Pay per Performance Advertising
Online advertising campaign management can become much
more effective - and complex - with the introduction
of pay per click (PPC) search engine services. Known
as sponsored listings, paid placement, and simply "PPC
ads," pay per click listings through services such
as Overture and Google Adwords offer a way to buy your
way to the top of search results for any term you wish.
With proper management and a clear focus, pay per click
services offer some of the most well targeted, far-reaching,
and economical advertising on the Internet.
Pay per click advertising works through a bidding process.
Ads appear prominently on the results pages of search
engines such as Google, MSN, and Yahoo. The highest
bidder for a particular word or phrase receives top
placement, and depending on the engine, the top three
to five bidders generally achieve placement on the first
page of search results.
Unlike with banner advertising campaigns, the cost
structure of pay per click is action driven. Each time
a user clicks your ad, the pay per click engine deducts
the amount of your current bid from your account. Compared
to impression-based campaigns, pay per click offers
a high level of assurance that your campaign is reaching
the proper target (an assurance level made absolute
when you're equipped with Intrapromote's SEARCH Stat
PPC tracking, by the way).
Pay per click campaigns, however, are not perfect.
Without constant monitoring, you sometimes risk incurring
advertising costs that can spiral out of control, focusing
on terms that don't convert well for your product or
services, or falling off the radar during a bidding
war. At Five Star, we can guide you through the process.
